Equipment

Just like any league, we have our gear that we use during the games. Our equipment is not of the traditional style to say the least. In fact, the only similarity between our equipment and another league's would probably be the white wiffleball. We do allow the bats to be taped but the ball must be pitched with nothing extra attached to it. We usually buy a new ball for each game and sometimes they are donated to us by Aaron from the AM/PM store next to That'sa Nice'a Pizza.

This is our homeplate. Nothing special, just an Italian newspaper taped with duct tape to the parking lot in a spot which we all agree upon is adequate for home plate. The paper usually wears out during the course of a game but the tape can last anywhere from one week to two months. We are still using this particular homeplate even after three weeks. Rain or snow or angry drivers have a big impact on how long our homeplates last. Duct tape is probably the strongest legal substance in the world.

This bat is characterized by a nice, smooth tape job which is tightly wrapped on the bat. Since there is not a lot of tape, this bat is primarily used in situations where a single is needed or a batter is needed just to get on base. Very few have hit home runs with this bat due to the dearth of tape.

This bat is the world famous super bat as dubbed by Bill. It is characterized by a ton of tape around the barrel which gives the ball a tremendous pop. It is slightly heavier than the rest of the bats but has provided for the most homeruns. It can also be used to hit with power to the opposite field when facing harder throwing pitchers like Matt or Jim.

This bat has a striking resemblance to super bat except that the tape is very thick around the higher portions of the barrel and does not go all the way to the top of the bat. The most dinstinguishing characteristic however is the point where it is bent thanks to an aggressive "check swing" by Jim in which the bat did not stop with the motion of his hands. It is still effective as a power bat to drive the ball as long as the bend is facing the mound and the ball hits off the thickly taped part and not the bare top.

As stated before, we do use the traditional wiffleball straight out of the package. No tape or any other alterations are allowed and a ball is discarded when it is torn or is too scatched up to be effective.
