Rules
"We hold these truths to be self evident...
Every league has to have rules. Though no one could ever
agree upon an official list for wiffleball, these are our interpretations
of such. They are difficult to understand unless you are familiar with the field because a lot
of them deal with certain locations or landmarks on the field itself. We don't run bases (out
of laziness) so we use points on the field to qualify as specific hits. Just read
em' you'll understand as you go along.
1. Any foul ball with less than two strikes is counted as a strike.
2. There are no called strikes.
3. There are no walks.
4. There are no hit batsmen.
5. Any foul ball with two strikes does not count as a strike
6. Three strikes per out.
7. Batters must stand within two feet of homeplate.
8. A Ball is A Homerun if:
A)It lands over the curb in Left Field
B)It lands in the parking spaces in deep center field
C)It lands in the street (over the curb) in Right Field
9. A Ball is A Triple if:
A) It rolls into one of the two triangles which contain the parking spaces in deep center field
10. A Ball is A Double if:
A) It rolls into the Parking Spaces in Deep Center Field
B) It rolls over the curb in Left Field
C) It rolls into the street in Right Field
11. A Ball is a Single if:
A) It takes its first bounce after the pitcher and does not roll over either curb nor into the
far parking spaces
B) It bounces before the pitcher but is bobbled by either of the fielders
1)A ball is considered bobbled if it hits the ground after touching the fielder
2)A ball deflecting off of a fielder and hitting the ground shall be ruled a single
12. A Ball is Foul if:
A) It does not roll past the large crack approximately three feet from the pitching area
B) It rolls into foul territory before reaching the foul markers
1)The foul markers are two road signs: one in left field and one in right field.
C) It is in foul territory when it passes one of the foul markers
D) It is dropped by a fielder who is in foul territory
1) If the fielder is in fair teritory and the ball is dropped into foul territory, the ball is ruled fair.
13. A Batter is out if:
A) A fielder catches a hit ball in the air before it hits the ground.
B) A ball bounces before the pitcher and is fielded without being bobbled.
14. Runners advance the number of bases equivalent to the hit.
15. No runners advance on an out.
